I’m Lee! I currently serve as the Design Practice Lead for Kessel Run, the US military’s first agile software facility. I’ve been tasked with enabling Kessel Run designers to perform the duties of their role through training, mentorship, and both individual and group instruction. Prior to that I created Kessel Run’s design system, responsible for building a consistent identity for all of Kessel Run’s products.
I create things for screens and teach others how to do the same.

The Story So Far…
I graduated with a degree in playwriting and spent several years bouncing from job to job in Los Angeles while working to develop my writing style. Eventually I grew restless, unsatisfied with the work I was doing and my current path. I decided to pursue a career in digital product design.
The next several months were spent preparing, consuming countless materials and teaching myself everything I could about UI and UX. When the opportunity arose I landed a role as a government contractor, tasked with re-designing aircraft statusing software. This role was largely performed with the oversight of Pivotal Labs (now VMware), allowing me the opportunity to receive hands on training from industry experts while we delivered an MVP just 75 days after inception.
After a successful year working for a defense contractor, Kessel Run approached to offer me a job creating their design system. The next four years I worked to unify Kessel Run’s 40 products. Last year I handed the reins of the design system off to others and moved into a practice lead role. Now I teach designers the fundamentals of design, while also working to identify opportunities to further their design careers.
